HotSpring®, the world’s number one selling brand of portable spas, has been awarded the prestigious POOL ÉCO Attitude trophy in the SPA category at the Piscine 2012 trade show (one of the biggest spa and swimming pool shows in the world grouping more than 1,000 brands at one event), held from 13-16 November 2012 in Lyon, France for its revolutionary ACE® Salt Water Sanitising System.
The HotSpring ACE Salt Water Sanitising System is the first and only integrated hot tub salt water sanitising system using diamond technology, an innovation that allows consumers to more easily care for their spa with fewer bottled cleaners, which results in fresh, clean water. When the diamond electrode in the ACE system is energised, it breaks apart water molecules to create high-energy, active oxygen. Active oxygen is one of the world’s most effective natural cleaners and is the first way the ACE system automatically cleans the water. The active oxygen then combines with salt and other elements in the water to create chlorine and three other powerful oxidisers.
Through intuitive and easy-to-navigate menus on the spa’s control panel, owners can easily operate the ACE salt water sanitising system. Once activated through the appropriate steps, the ACE system operates on its own with minimal upkeep.
It cuts back on excess chemical use because it automatically generates the precise amount of cleaners needed. This helps decrease the frequency of drain-and-refill compared to other water care systems, and provides less chemical impact on outdoor landscapes from water drainage.
Vice-President of International Sales and Marketing, Leo Hamacher, highlighted the great efforts made by HotSpring to promote this innovative system “When we started developing the system we set out to introduce a game changing advancement to the market. When we launched the ACE Salt Water Sanitizing system after years of research, testing and fine-tuning, we knew we had delivered on that promise.
Since your HotSpring spa lets you know when the ACE system needs attention, water care is now completely worry-free, leaving you and your family with more time to enjoy your spa. And since there are no excess chemicals, it’s kinder to the environment as well.
This trophy is a wonderful recognition for the talented team that worked tirelessly to create such a brilliant system and it’s a testament to our dedication to innovation and excellence.†said Leo.

In the past 18 years the National Lottery has created 3,000 millionaires. But what have the lucky winners spent their money on?
According to a study by Camelot and Oxford Economics, over £8.5bn has been won since the National Lottery launched in 1994, with the average win coming in at £2.8m. The average win laid end to end in £10 notes would stretch for 25 miles.
So where do hot tubs feature in the spending priorities of new Lotto winners?
Hot Tubs came out top!
Whilst over £460m has been spent on buying new cars – caravans, walk-in wardrobes, electric gates, games rooms and snooker tables have all been high on the shopping lists of those lucky enough to scoop top prize. But it has been revealed today that hot tubs are best when it comes the percentage ownership, with 29% of winners choosing to install their very own bubbling hot tub in their swish homes.
“That’s almost 1,000 of the very best hot tubs installed into the homes of lottery millionaires which is a truly staggering statistic. It just goes to show how enjoyable hot tubs are and when the financial barriers to ownership are removed, a huge proportion of the population would choose to own one. When you compare this figure to the hot tub ownership proportion in the general population of less than 1% of homes having hot tubs, this is staggering news,” commented Nick Clamp, Editor of WhatSpa? Magazine.
