A FAMILY from Aynho will soon be relaxing in style and enjoying the benefits of hydrotherapy after winning a competition for a £10,000 hot tub, courtesy of a specialist spa company.
Kay Anderson, 44, entered the contest in the June edition of Grand Designs magazine and couldn’t believe her luck when she scooped the luxury prize, to be supplied by Bicester-based Lycian Spas.
“It was a big surprise and I’m absolutely delighted,†said the busy mum who works as a part time administrator and only found time to enter the competition because she happened to be flicking through the magazine while on holiday.
“We’re members of a local club which has hot tubs so I’ve used them before and always wanted one but there was usually something else that took priority,†she commented.
Now Kay, her husband Andy and two children are looking forward to taking delivery of their very own six-seater `Bear Creek’ model from the company’s high-tech Platinum range, manufactured by Artesian Spas and distributed by Yorkshire-based Artesian Spas UK Ltd. The Andersons chose that particular unit because of its compact size and energy-saving features of “Directflow†and “Variable Flow Control†which allows users to control water pressure. It will also feature innovative LED lighting with an array of colour options as well as built-in music.
“We’re hoping for an Indian summer now to make the most of it although, because the water will be so warm, it won’t really matter even if it snows,†added Kay.
Lycian Spas is one of more than 20 outlets nationwide which sells products for Artesian, whose managing director Rob Stirland said he was pleased to provide the luxury prize. “The Andersons have chosen an extremely popular model which features state-of-the-art technology including our patented Helix jet system which delivers an exceptional hydro-massage. The addition of the music and lighting will give all the family the perfect spa experience in the comfort of their own back garden and I hope they enjoy it for many years to come,†he said.
